Help! i cant sleep because im overheating at night?
So i recently was diagnosed with an ulcer. I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks and it completely killed the h. pylori bacteria. In the process i somehow lost 12 lbs, my blood pressure was regular again (i was slightly hypertensive before) my cholesterol shot down tons of points to a level better than most healthy people, my triglycerides were way down as well. My doctor was amazed for he had never seen such a drastic change in numbers. He ran another blood test to make sure nothing had been mixed up at the lab somehow and it came back the same. He was simply astonished and so i left his office feeling pretty good and wanting to lose more weight and change my habits so i would never have to experience another ulcer again.
About 1 week later i started experiencing trouble sleeping. at first, it felt like bugs were jumping on me and then jumping off. I wasn’t finding bite marks or anything just crawling. I assumed it was bed bugs initially but i have found no evidence (bites, droppings, shed skin, etc) of any bugs whatsoever. I then thought it could be fleas or lice jumping on me but not biting but that isn’t common with their typical behavior. I slept at my girlfriends house one night to see if i would still feel the crawling sensation. what she found kinda scares me and i cant find anything online relevant to my problem.
So apparentely once i fell asleep, i started talking in my sleep which isn’t typical for me at all. She noticed that shortly after i became insanely hot. Like i was soaked in sweat and she couldn’t lay next to me bc i was radiating heat. I woke up at about 4am and sat up. I could feel the radiant heat from the mattress. It felt like there was a heating pad underneath me or something. I quickly grabbed a thermometer to check my temperature. It read 97.5 which shows no elevation at all. I had my girlfriend take her temp to make sure the thermometer wasn’t uncalibrated or something. Hers read 98. since then, ive woken up many times (usually around 4 or 5am) and cant go back to sleep. All day i feel lethargic and exhausted. I dont know if its related to the antibiotics i took for the ulcer or not. I found that often people who take such antibiotics as Flagyl kill all of the bad bacteria as well as the good bacteria and can sometimes get an overgrowth of yeast as a result which can lead to crawling sensations and overheating. Does this sound like a legitimate explaination or is it likely to be something different? I haven’t been able to see a doctor bc i work every day and as a chef its hard to really get days off. I thought it would eventually subside but every night i feel like im on fire. does anybody have any suggestions or ideas? Please help!

Does anyone have a remedy for backache?
I don’t ususually have a problem with my back, but after moving air conditioners last weekend, and then sleeping on a "not so great" mattress for two nights after, an aching back has set in and NOT going away! (Yes, it’s lower back.) FYI what I have tried:
Heating pad, heating packs, alternating heat with cold, muscle ointment, pain medication (Alleve), gentle exercise and flexing (although maybe someone would have some specific ideas here?), avoiding any lifting of even medium variety, trying to stay off the computer for most part(!), pillow for support….anyone with other ideas???
PS I have tried chiropractor in the past, and didn’t like. Would consider massage therapy, but hoping for other solution before spending time and $$ for massage.
PPS Also wanted to let you know that I have NO medical insurance.
Appreciate answers still incoming, just an update on situation:
Did go to a trusted massage therapist. She thinks lower 5 back vertebrae + hips out of alignment. In doing pressure point, she really "hit home" (with pain) on an area of the chest, where the "psoas" is located (never heard of it before), a sausage-shaped muscle connecting back with leg; runs alongside ribcage. Makes sense because pain has begun alternating with lower right back/buttocks and right knee. Vicki is excellent, gives me sliding scale and really knows her stuff. Movement definitely started happening after seeing her; first time I have had periods of comfort in over a week. Trying to decide whether to go back to see her one more time this week –or go see a new chiropractor who magically "fell into my life" with high recommendation this week. Problem with chiropractor is the cost: 0 for first visit, 0 for visits thereafter,.
PS Last update was added early wed morning november 8th at 4:15 AM EST

How can I get my bed warmer? Electric blanket?
My house uses an electric heat pump as the source of heat. I freeze every night. The thermostat is on 70 but it makes no diff. I have a tempurpedic mattress and this thing is like a cold slab of quicksand. I wear two pairs of socks and my feet still freeze. Sometimes I wear a hat to bed.
What are my options for heating the bed and/or myself when I go to sleep.
Electric blanket – what kind is best?
Are there non-electrical heating pads of some sort out there?
Thanks

Suggestions for making a homemade heating pad for my baby?
Not to use directly on her of course, I want to make something I can heat up and lay in her crib mattress for a while before laying her down, then I can remove it and lay her down on a warm surface. We’ve been putting her blanket in the drier lately, but that just seems like such a waste of electricity!
I was thinking of sewing two cloth diapers together as the container, I’ve heard those work well, but what should I use on the inside? Rice, if so what kind (instant or regular)? Dried beans? Corn? Bird seed? I read somewhere that you can use any of these or any combination of these, anyone know which ones work best?
Thanks in advance!
I should add my "baby" is 16-months old so I guess she’s more of a toddler, but she likes to be warm when she sleeps. Up until recently she slept in one of those sleep sacks that kept her nice and comfy, but now she rolls to much and gets frustrated when it the sack gets twisted. We’ve had several cold fronts come through and at least 1 more is on it’s way so when I lay her down I like to make it nice and warm and comfy since she’s transferring from mommy’s nice warm arms (she nurses to sleep) to a very cold crib. She LOVES the warm blanket, I just thought that 1 min in the microwave uses less electricity then 15 min of running the drier.
